About the Role
This role is to help build a new Database startup that is based out of London and New York to build a novel type of multi modal database that is going to revolutionise the capability companies get from their data warehouses. You need to be a creative and proactive engineer that is enthused about working in an early stage startup and understands database and analytics problems in depth having worked with the latest types of database tools.
Requirements
Experience Needed:
Deep experience in low-​level,​ high-​performance software and cloud-​scale storage systems with a strong technical understanding of what we're doing
Deep backend systems experience (storage engines,​ file formats,​ distributed infra)
Proven track record in performance engineering
Preferably worked at database / data infra companies (ClickHouse,​ InfluxData,​ MongoDB,​ DataBricks,​ Snowflake,​ Vertica,​ Voltron Data,​ LanceDB)
Technical Skills Needed:
Strong backend systems engineering fundamentals
Technical enough to understand the infra/storage problems we are solving
Experience with C/C++ or Rust
Familiarity with tools like Apache Arrow,​ Parquet,​ DataFusion,​ Clickhouse,​ or DuckDB is a plus
Passionate about their work and the infrastructure and storage problems we're solving
