About the Role
As an SRE / Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll own the reliability, scalability and security of the platform that runs large numbers of AI-driven security tests in parallel.
You’ll work across:
Cloud infrastructure and networking
Container orchestration
Observability and incident response
Infrastructure-as-code and security hardening
This is not a “keep the lights on” ops role – you’ll be designing and evolving the core systems that make the product possible.
Requirements
Location: New York – HybridType: Full-time, permanentCompensation: Top-of-market salary + meaningful equity
What You’ll Do
Design, build, and maintain production infrastructure for a high-throughput security testing platform.
Own availability, performance, and cost for core services and environments.
Run and improve containerised workloads (e.g. Kubernetes/ECS/Nomad) used to orchestrate large numbers of concurrent scans.
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code for all cloud resources (networking, compute, storage, IAM, etc.).
Build and refine monitoring, logging, and alerting across services; define SLOs and own on-call for what you build.
Collaborate closely with backend and security engineers to design systems that are safe, resilient and easy to operate.
Continuously optimise and simplify: reduce toil, remove bottlenecks, and make the platform easier to scale.
Requirements
4+ years building and running production infrastructure (SRE, Infra, DevOps, or Platform roles).
Strong hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Solid understanding of networking, load balancing, and distributed systems in production environments.
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi or similar).
Experience running containerised workloads in production (Kubernetes, ECS, etc.).
Comfortable owning services end-to-end – design, implementation, rollout, monitoring, and incident response.
Track record of working in fast-moving teams and shipping high-quality systems quickly.
Nice to Have
Background in security, pentesting, or offensive/defensive security tooling.
Experience in early-stage or high-growth startups.
Experience building infra for high-volume data processing or other compute-heavy workloads.
Why This Role
Impact: Your work underpins an AI platform that’s redefining how security testing is done.
Ownership: Small, senior team; you’ll be the person others escalate to for infra and reliability.
Growth: Direct exposure to cutting-edge AI + security, and the chance to shape infra from an early stage.
About the Company
We’re partnering with a VC-backed AI security startup that’s automating offensive security – using AI agents to continuously probe and attack web apps and infrastructure the way a top human hacker would, but at machine scale. Their platform replaces periodic, manual pentests with always-on, AI-driven testing.
They’re lean, engineering-led, and growing quickly with paying customers.
