About the Role
What You’ll Do
50% / Strategic & Leadership
Lead and grow a high-performing infrastructure / SRE / platform team.
Define and execute the roadmap for scalable, secure infrastructure that supports product and regulatory needs.
Set and enforce operational standards around observability, incident response, reliability, security, and cost.
Partner with Security, Product, Data and Engineering leadership to align infra with business goals.
50% / Hands-on Engineering
Own day-to-day infrastructure operations across AWS, Kubernetes and Postgres-based services.
Design and review architectures, Terraform modules, CI/CD pipelines, and observability stacks.
Get into the weeds on performance, reliability and cost optimisation: profiling workloads, tuning databases, right-sizing compute, improving runbooks.
Lead from the front during major incidents: dive into logs/metrics, coordinate response, and drive follow-up improvements.
Expect the split to be roughly 50% leadership / strategy, 50% hands-on technical work, especially in the first 12–18 months.

What We’re Looking For
~10+ years in infrastructure / SRE / platform engineering, including 3–5+ years leading teams.
Proven experience running production systems on AWS with Kubernetes, Terraform and solid observability.
Comfortable operating in regulated environments (e.g. SOC 2, PCI, FedRAMP or similar) and working closely with security teams.
Strong technical judgment: you can debate trade-offs on architecture, reliability and cost at a deep level.
Track record of hiring, coaching and levelling up engineers, while still enjoying rolling up your sleeves.
Clear communicator who can work with both senior leadership and hands-on engineers.
Tech Environment
Cloud: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS/Aurora, Redshift, etc.)
Compute & Containers: Kubernetes, Docker
Data: PostgreSQL / Aurora, OpenSearch or similar
IaC & CI/CD: Terraform, modern CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.)
Observability: Datadog, Prometheus, Sumo Logic (or equivalent)
Languages: Python plus familiarity with modern backend stacks
About the Company
Partnered with a High-growth B2B SaaS company in a highly regulated industry is looking for a Head of Infrastructure to own everything from cloud architecture and reliability, through to team leadership and long-term infra strategy.
You’ll lead a small, senior team and stay close to the code and systems yourself – this is not a pure people-management role.
